John Galliano fue arrestado el pasado jueves acusado de haber emitido presuntamente insultos antisemitas y racistas tras discutir con una pareja en una terraza en el barrio parisino de Le Marais, cerca del domicilio francés del modisto. Ayer mismo volvió a presentarse otra segunda demanda contra el diseñador en la que una mujer asegura que ha sido “asaltada verbalmente con insultos antisemitas” en el mismo bar, hace unas semanas. Galliano se ha defendido sobre ambas demandas y afirma que denunciará a la primera mujer que le acusó. No obstante, existe un vídeo en el que se ve a Galliano -aparentemente ebrio- profiriendo algunos de estos insultos. En concreto manifiesta palabras como: “Yo amo a Hitler. La gente como vosotros deberíais estar muertos. Vuestras madres, vuestros padres, deberíais estar todos gaseados”. Aquí os cuelgo el vídeo:

Como os decía al principio, me sorprende que en los tiempos que corren, y después de los hechos registrados en la historia mundial, haya personas que sigan teniendo esa mentalidad y de verdad puedan decir cosas como que aman a Hitler.

Sin embargo, no es el único diseñador que suelta estas “joyitas” por la boca. Nada más enterarme de los comentarios de Galliano se me ha venido a la cabeza las declaraciones de Tommy Hilfiger -aunque todavía hay gente que sigue diciendo que Hilfiger no vertió esas declaraciones racistas-. No obstante, no hace mucho, el diseñador norteamericano respondió tajantemente con un “Sí” cuando la presentadora Oprah Winfrey le preguntó si él dijo lo siguiente: “Si yo hubiera sabido que los negros americanos, los latinos colombianos, venezolanos, cubanos, mexicanos y los asiáticos comprarían mi ropa, no la hubiese diseñado tan buena. Desearía que ese tipo gente no comprara mi ropa, pues está hecha para gente caucásica, de clase alta… y desearía dársela mejor a los cerdos”.
